Carlsbader wafer sheets – for old and young bakers
Wafer sheets with a tradition: Carlsbader wafer sheets have a similar origin as round wafers but they are square and fluffy, thin sheets made from water, fl our and starch – a traditional sweet dish from the thermal spa Karlsbad in Bohemia.
The dough for the wafer sheets consists of a very simple yet quite unique recipe. It is baked in thin wafers that are later cut into equally big pieces. Typical for these wafer sheets is their special composition and their fine, neutral taste.
Creative deserts, easily prepared
The fine wafer sheets are especially suitable for old and young confectioners. The literally wafer-thin pastries are easy to turn into creative deserts in an instant without having to mix batter or even bake. Especially practical if there is little time or for families with children. For a wafer cake several layers of Carlsbader wafer sheets are stacked atop one another, fi lled with and held together by a cream.
